WHAT DRIVES THE CONSUMER’S HOTEL BOOKING DECISION? Generally, three principal considerations drive a consumer’s hotel booking decision: location (where the hotel is situated), price, and expected consumer experience (all those factors which, together, will determine what kind of experience the consumer expects to have at the hotel - from the appearance of the hotel and its rooms, to the hotel’s facilities and amenities, its level of service, etc.).
Since consumers generally look for a hotel in a pre-determined destination, hotels usually cannot compete on the basis of location. They must instead compete based on price and “expected consumer experience”. Studies show that consumers actually chose their hotel accommodation based on a combination of both these two factors, which together determine perceived “value” - the higher the “expected consumer experience” or the lower the price, the higher the perceived “value” of a given hotel. An important corollary of this is that consumers are willing to pay more for a hotel if they believe that they are getting a better “value”.

HOW TO COMMUNICATE A HOTEL’S “EXPECTED CONSUMER EXPERIENCE” THROUGH INTERACTIVE MEDIA (DVD/VIDEO CD) AND ONLINE. Since consumers choose hotel accommodations in large part based on their “expected consumer experience”, it is clearly important for lodging properties to effectively communicate to the traveller what that experience will be. Here is where interactive content plays a crucial role.

As the saying goes, “a picture paints a thousand words” The consumer searching for hotel accommodation wants to know as much as possible about a hotel before making a booking decision. Our clients know their properties best, so we are always working with them during the production process to ensure that the final video is as effective a selling tool as possible. Once finished, we provide ongoing management and distribution of our clients videos to DVD/CD-ROM and their own website, as well as their corporate hotel brand website.

We offer three different video production solutions to suit different client needs and budgets:

STANDARD VIDEOS Our standard videos are a single video presentation on all the key features and benefits of the hotel. They offer full-motion video hosted by a presenter and/or voice narration and music that showcase a hotel property and its key selling features. As part of our standard video production service, once our script writer has developed the video’s script (the audio narration for the video), we send a cameraman, producer and presenter directly to the client’s property to capture its key features on film. Our cameramen are professionals who pride themselves on attention to detail, image quality and image creativity.

INTERACTIVE DVD (Multi Presentations) These videos take on a similar format to standard videos, but, have the unique feature of having click and play mini videos on specific topics relevant to the hotel, such as, ‘Conferences and Weddings’, ‘Leisure Facilities’, ‘Bedrooms’, and ‘Dining and Bars’. These interactive videos, further benefit the user, by giving them the power to select a video type they wish to view in any order. They are further enhanced by additional content features, such as, ‘Local Area Attractions’. Whereby, we can produce a segment mini video on the places to see nearby and favourite local ‘must see’ attractions. These videos are ideally suited to DVD / CD-ROM as well as publishing separately on your website and In Room TV in your Hotel.

BOOKEND VIDEOS Bookend videos are designed for hotel chain properties that feature a similar design and amenities. The book-end videos consist of a “core” hotel chain-specific full-motion video showcasing the features and amenities which are common to properties in that hotel chain, with an introduction and conclusion customized to a specific hotel property. Like our standard videos, bookend videos are up to four minutes in length with a presenter, voice narration, and music. Interactive Content DVDs / CD-ROMs and Web casting

We offer our clients copies of their videos on DVD/CD-ROM. The DVD/CD-ROMs can be used for many offline marketing and sales activities, including showing the video through any computer while on a sales meeting at a client’s office or during trade show presentations. The DVD/CD-ROM copies of a property’s interactive content can also be included as part of hotel's marketing materials and sent to meeting planners and other potential clients. Our videos are encoded for streaming on the Internet in wmp format (Windows Media Player) and at three different speeds (300K for T1 LAN connections, 100K for DSL and Cable connections, and 56K for Dial-up connections) to ensure that they can be viewed online by virtually anyone.
Streaming videos are ideally suited to the merchandising of hotel properties on the Internet. Videos effectively convey unique destination and lodging property information in a dynamic and captivating manner, engaging the viewer with sight, sound and motion. E-MAILS Our videos can also be used as a selling tool by e-mailing them to meeting planners and potential clients “on the spot” while on a phone call with the potential guest or as part of an e-mail “blast” marketing campaign.

AERIAL HELICOPTER FILMING As part of our Interactive DVD’s, we will include stunning video footage shot from a Helicopter above your Hotel. We also include some still photography for you to use in your own print marketing supplied on disc.
